This curriculum helps you prepare for a positive breast/bodyfeeding experience.

Whatever your bodyfeeding plans, this class teaches you what to expect as you plan to return to work or school.

Massage helps infants survive and thrive by providing stimulation and relief while promoting relaxation and attachment.

Home Visits

Comprehensive lactation consultation with hands-on guidance in the comfort of your own home. To keep you and your family healthy, a wellness screening is required*.

Multiples Home Visit

  • 90-120 min.

Choose How to Access Care

All lactation consultations can be accessed in two ways—direct billing through insurance or self-pay.


Bill to Insurance

Milk Maidens Lactation partners with The Lactation Network (TLN) to provide direct billing through insurance.

TLN contracts with most Anthem PPO, Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, MultiPlan, Provider Network of America (PNOA), Sutter Health Plan (HMO and HDHP), UnitedHealthcare (commercial, home visits only), and Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA CCN).

Self-Pay

For clients without insurance, or choosing to pay out-of-pocket, payment is due at time of service and a superbill is provided. Click the button below to schedule.

Infant Massage®

Live Online Course

Skin is our largest organ and our primary connection to the external world. Research shows touch is one of the most critical elements of parent-child bonding. Massage helps infants survive and thrive by providing stimulation and relief while promoting relaxation and attachment. Learn how to enhance your baby’s body awareness and build an everlasting bond.

  • Stimulation positively affects the circulatory, immune, lymphatic, nervous, respiratory, digestive, vestibular, and hormonal systems.
  • Relief of physical discomforts such as gas, colic, constipation, digestive cramps, growing pains muscular tension, teething discomfort, and dry skin.
  • Relaxation is demonstrated by improved sleep, increased flexibility, and calmness.
  • Interaction facilitates bonding, secure attachment, non-verbal communication, empathy, and more.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund (less credit card fees) will be issued for cancellations received at least one calendar day prior to first class. No refunds will be issued after the course has begun. Cancellations can be made via email: annmarie@milkmaidenslactation.org

Class Fee:

  • Private: $150 / 3-week course
  • Group: $100 / 4-week course (3 family minimum)

Recommendation:

Parents and their infants from birth to 12-months.

Organize a small group course with your village scheduled around your family’s calendar.

During the course, both parents will have opportunities to be hands-on with their infant.

Prenatal Breast/Bodyfeeding

Private Online Class

This class prepares you for a successful, positive bodyfeeding experience. Milk Maidens Lactation believes this is built on a solid foundation of knowledge, support, and personal commitment.

This 2-hour Class Includes:

  • Benefits of human milk feeding for the lactating parent and the baby
  • Physiology of lactation and what to expect from your amazing body
  • Expectations for the early days of life and how to navigate the hospital stay
  • Bodyfeeding positions and technique for a beautiful deep latch
  • Instruction on breast & nipple exams, hand expression, and breast pump basics
  • Discussion on breastfeeding/lactation supplies and gadgets
  • Setting goals, facing common challenges, and when to seek help
  • Online resources & informational handouts
  • Answers to your questions about breast/bodyfeeding

Recommendation:

Attend this class between 34-36 weeks of pregnancy.

Returning to Work/School

Private online class

Returning to work, in any setting, requires planning and preparation. Whether you plan to continue bodyfeeding, switch to exclusive pumping, or partially wean, this class will teach you what to expect.

In this 2-hour class you will learn:

  • Benefits of continued bodyfeeding
  • Bodyfeeding in the context of baby development
  • Importance of a solid support system
  • Maintaining your milk supply
  • Preventing breast complications
  • Breast pump use & maintenance
  • Milk storage & transport guidelines
  • Caregiver education & resources
  • Lactation accommodations in the workplace & legal resources

Cost of Class:

  • Private Class: $60, partner + child caregiver included

Recommendation:

Attend this class 3-4 weeks prior to your first day back at work (when lactation accommodations are in place) or 4-6 weeks prior when lactation accommodations do not currently exist in your workplace. Info on Lactation Accommodations in the Workplace.
